In a groundbreaking initiative, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced that all teachers in Dubai will be trained in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This ambitious program aims to equip educators with the skills and knowledge needed to integrate AI into their teaching practices, ultimately enhancing the educational experience for students.
Empowering Educators with AI Skills
The initiative, overseen by the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), aligns with the goals of the recently launched Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI). Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of preparing teachers to nurture a new generation of learners who can leverage technological advancements, including AI.
Vision for the Future
Sheikh Hamdan stated, “The aim of this initiative is to empower our teachers with AI skills to enhance their professional capabilities and enrich the educational experience of our students. This initiative embodies our commitment to anticipating the future, innovation, and excellence in education, and preparing our upcoming generations for the future.” He highlighted that education worldwide will witness radical changes with the introduction of new tools and unique learning environments based on augmented and virtual reality, supported by AI technologies.
Recognizing Innovation
To encourage innovative approaches in adapting AI technologies, the top ten teachers who showcase the most effective integration of AI into their teaching practices will be recognized with awards totaling Dh1 million during the next edition of the AI Retreat on April 29, 2025.
